Research overview

Anne Renahan is a PhD candidate exploring the representation of modern and contemporary boreal island landscape in Orkney, Shetland, Faroe Islands, Iceland and Greenland in relation to women and marginalised artists, periphery-centre dynamics and island studies. She is under the supervision of Dr Sam Rose and Dr Shona Kallestrup. 

Anne runs her own publishing house, and is a consultant editor for an international publisher, specialising in books predominantly related to the art, architecture and design of south-east and east Asia, as well as selected European titles. She has worked as a journalist in the Middle East and Czech Republic, editor for the United Nations in Beirut, Lebanon; and as managing editor of Bloomsbury’s former Doha, Qatar office.
