Research overview
In 2024, Andrew earned a BSc in Earth and Environmental Science from the University of St Andrews. He took part in research with Dr Anna Mackie and Dr Michael Byrne on a fourth year disseration entitled 'Comparing Component Cloud Feedbacks Across Varying Horizontal Resolutions'. Through this work he gained an interest in climate model intercomparison and the skills needed to conduct such research.
Andrew began a PhD at the University of St Andrews in October 2024 under the supervision of Dr Michael Byrne and Dr Graeme MacGilchrist. His research seeks to utilize exisiting theory derived from atmospheric dynamics to constrain projections of tropical extreme temperatures using the current generation of global climate models.
