Research overview

Amy is a PhD candidate studying ecclesiastical patronage in the medieval English church, supervised by Professor Julian Luxford. Her research explores the patronage of the Archbishop of York at the Minster, episcopal residences, and suffragan churches in the locality. 

Amy holds a Masters of Art in Medieval Studies from the University of York, where she completed her MA thesis under the supervision of Professor Tim Ayers. 

Research interests

Medieval art and architecture; secular cathedrals; medieval Christianity; the cult of saints; religious, social, and ecclesiastical history; medieval York; palaeography; pilgrimage; history of devotion.
