Dr Ifesinachi Okafor-Yarwood, together with local research collaborators, the Canoe and Fishing Gear Owners of Ghana (CaFGOAG), the Fisheries Committee for the West Central Gulf of Guinea (FCWC), and the Fisheries Commission engaged the Minister for fisheries, whose heads the government outfit responsible for formulating fisheries policy in Ghana.

The engagement, amidst strengthening collaborative ties with the local stakeholders, kickstarted unfolding opportunities to present developments of the ISIPSK research project with the Hon Minister and her outfit to potentially inform the synergy between indigenous knowledge and scientific knowledge in Ghana, as it aligns with the objective of the new Minister.
