Description of impact
Finch contributed to the development of national prospectivity models and maps in critical metal resources, including rare earths, Nb, Ta, Zr, Hf, Th and U over the Middle East and North Africa. This allowed at 10-year exploration project worth US$100M+ to be developed.Who is affected
National governmentsNarrative
Many national governments are seeking to clarify which resources they have that can meet the requirements of the green energy transition. Key to this are the rare earths, Nb, Ta, Zr, Hf, Th and U, which underpin carbon-free energy production. Finch advised SRK on how to develop national prospectivity models and map for nations in the Middle East and North Africa. This allowed the governments of those countries to be developed and applied. The success of this project allowed SRK to develop regional exploration projects worth $100s of Millions USD.Impact status | Open |
