Narrative

Urban communities across the Global South live under the influence of non-state armed groups while facing socio-economic marginalisation and limited access to public goods and services. Yet, many of these communities have developed creative strategies to survive amid such challenging conditions. Through three two-day participatory workshops involving scholars and civil society members from marginalised neighbourhoods in Mexico City, Rio de Janeiro and Nairobi, this project will develop actionable frameworks for resilience and civic engagement capable of bringing measurable change to the wellbeing of urban communities. Outputs will include short films, a multilingual report, policy briefs, and a multi-media website.
