Narrative

The purpose for this strategic group, chaired by Michael Russell MSP then Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning alongside the Early Years Collaborative and Curriculum for Excellence the other education initiatives, was to make Scotland not only the best place in the world to grow up in but also the best place to learn. The Scottish Government wanted to ensure they were fit for purpose in a changing educational and economic world. And at the heart of the ambition is the principle that everyone in Scotland has the right to access high quality learning to meet their needs and aspirations – throughout their lives.
