Description
The three .zip files correspond to the three thesis science chapters, e.g. Chapter3.zip.
Chapter3.zip
Contains folders labelled according to the plots in Chapter 3 of the thesis. The folders contain .dat files with ionisation radii(au) and velocities(km/s)/densities(cm^-3) at different times(yrs) and radii(au). The data was obtained from simulations using the rad-hydro code described in Chapter 2 of the thesis.
Chapter4.zip
Contains folders labelled according to the plots in Chapter 4 of the thesis. The folders contain .dat files with the following columns: radius of cloud shell collapsing (pc), binary mass (Msun), binary angular momentum and binary separation (au). There is also one .xlsx file, with column descriptions included. The data was obtained from the semi-analytic model described in Chapter 4 of the thesis.
The files in folder Fig 4.6 are labelled according to which version of the model was used to generate them. Model0: rotation only, model1: turbulence only, model2: rotation and turbulence, model3: rotation and turbulence and magnetic field. One version starts with a 10 solar mass binary system which is indicated by ā_10ā. The models either consider a centrally dense cloud, or uniform density, the latter indicated by ā_uā. More information on the model parameters can be found in the thesis.
The files in folder Fig 4.7 are labelled according to which version of the model was used to generate them. model2: rotation and turbulence, model3: rotation and turbulence and magnetic field. All model3 files are also labelled according to how magnetic field strength in units of micro Gauss.
Chapter5.zip
Contains one folder with solar data and one folder with stellar data, all in .dat format. The data is the result of analysis of alpha, beta, gamma coefficient files describing magnetic maps based on observations or simulations - the calculations performed are described in the thesis. The original files describing the magnetic maps do not belong to me, but were used with permission, see collaboration statement in the thesis and references in Table 5.2.
Solar data:
- Helicity density values averaged over bands spanning all longitudes and 3 degrees latitude at 118 simulated times and 105 observed times. File name: *observed or simulated data*_Average_H_density_bands_*width of band in degrees*_from*lowest latitude considered*to*highest latitude considered*_*maximum l mode*.dat
- Helicity density values averaged across each hemisphere at 118 simulated times and 105 observed times. One number given for each resolution up to the maximum l mode chosen. File name: *observed or simulated data*_Average_H_density_*north or south hemisphere*_*maximum l mode*.dat
- Mean squared magnetic flux density across the entire solar surface at 118 simulated times and 105 observed times. File name: *observed or simulated data*_Energy_*maximum l mode*.dat
Stellar data:
- List of stellar maps analysed (their order corresponds to the order the results are given in the remaining stellar data files). Filename: Labels.txt
- Helicity density values averaged across each hemisphere at for the different stellar maps. One number given for each resolution up to the maximum l mode chosen. File name: Stars_Average_H_density_*north or south hemisphere*_*maximum l mode*.dat
- Mean squared magnetic flux density across the entire stellar surface for the different stars. File name: Stars_Energy_*magnetic field component considered (total, poloidal or toroidal)*_*maximum l mode*.dat
