Description

Median and 90th percentile of temperature range and difference in biological rates for each temporal window (quarter-diurnal, semi-diurnal, diurnal, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly and annual) at each of the 492 locations in the ocean weather paper. Details about these 492 locations are also provided, such as time spans, coordinates, and depths. Other variables such as the arithmetic and geometric means are also available for those interested to explore further. Note that in these files, plot_ids with alphabets (see metadata) were grouped together before calculating the arithmetic mean, geometric mean, median and 90th percentile, because these represent the same locations where temperature measurements were taken.temp range - 19 Mar 2023_with_spatial_blockstemp range annual - 19 Mar 2023_with_spatial_blocksbr diff e063 - 19 Mar 2023_with_spatial_blocksbr diff e063 annual - 19 Mar 2023_with_spatial_blocksMedian and 90th percentile of temperature range and difference in biological rates, as above, but for the sensitivity tests.temp range greater than 3 years - 19 Mar 23br diff e063 more than 3 years - 19 Mar 23br diff e063 annual conservative more than 3 years - 19 Mar 23br diff e063 annual conservative - 19 Mar 2023br diff e063 conservative more than 3 years - 19 Mar 23temp range conservative more than 3 years - 19 Mar 23temp range annual Conservative more than 3 years - 19 Mar 23temp range annual more than 3 years - 19 Mar 23br diff e063 annual more than 3 years - 19 Mar 23temp range annual Conservative - 19 Mar 2023temp range conservative - 19 Mar 2023br diff e063 conservative - 19 Mar 2023br diff e0433 - 7th Feb 23br_diff_e0433 annual - 7th Feb 23Sample time series in Fig. 1 of the paper used. Please note that time series from private sources cannot be provided.plot_id_65bplot_id_286plot_id_380plot_id_413The file "metadata.csv" contains the original metadata, i.e., the metadata of all the time series in our database before the filtering step (see Materials and Methods). In this file, plot_ids with same digit numbers but different decimals are those time series where the temperature was recorded at the same coordinates but different depths. For example, plot_ids 6.1 and 6.2 are at exactly the same coordinates (16.77592, -88.07653) but plot_id 6.1 had temperature measurements at 5 m deep, while plot_id 6.2 had measurements at 10 m deep. Furthermore, plot_ids with alphabets had temperatures recorded at the same coordinates and depth, but the time series are in different files either because of different measurement frequencies or because there was a too large gap in the time series. For example, plot_ids 1.2 - (a) and 1.2 - (b) have measurement frequencies of 10 mins and 15 mins respectively.metadata
