Data used for the analysis in the following paper: "Accumulation of CO2 limits energy gain in freely diving grey seals" Eva-Maria S. Bønnelycke, Joanna L. Kershaw, Gordon D. Hastie, Carol Sparling, Steve Balfour, Ryan Milne, Simon E. W. Moss, Philippa F. C. Wright, J. Chris McKnight.Energy content.txt: This file contains the wet weight (g) and wet weight energy density values (kJ/g) for a subset of sprat and herring used in the experimental trials.MetabolicRate.txt: This file contains the VO2 and VCO2 (L) values that were extracted for trials with the extended post-diving recovery period. The trial duration (secs), animal mass (kg) and number of fish consumed per trial are also included.Triglycerides_SamplingPoint.txt: This file contains the triglyceride concentration (mg/dL) for each sampling point (i.e. baseline, immediately post-diving, and 3 hrs post-diving) across all experimental trials.TAG_Condition.txt: This file contains the triglyceride concentration (mg/dL) for samples collected immediately post-diving across gas conditions. The animal mass (kg) and time difference between the start of the first dive of a trial and the time at which the immediately post-diving blood sample was collected are also included for each sample.deltaTAG_Condition.txt: This file contains the triglyceride concentration (mg/dL) for samples collected immediately post-diving and 3 hrs post-diving and the difference between the two (deltaTAG) across gas conditions.The animal mass (kg), the time difference between the start of the first dive of a trial and the time at which the immediately post-diving blood sample was collected, and the time difference between the start of the first dive of a trial and the time at which the 3 hrs post-diving blood sample was collected are also included for each sample.Lactate.txt: This file contains the values for lactate concentration (mmol/L) across gas conditions.
