How to write trauma-informed truth in texts for children?

Press/Media: Relating to Research

Description

Kateryna Yegorushkina is a Ukrainian writer, literary critic and fairy tale therapist. In her books, she addresses complex topics: The Holodomor, war, forced displacement, preservation of national identity, and environmental pollution. Since the full-scale invasion, the writer has been collecting testimonies in the de-occupied territories and conducting art therapy classes for war orphans and displaced children. Chytomo and I, Viktoriia Medvied, asked Kateryna about how to safely talk about events that are not easy to verbalise, but are extremely important - the realities of the present and the tragic past of our people. And also, what approaches contribute to the formation of a conscious personality from childhood.
