DescriptionExcerpt from the article Franchise of fear (translated from Danish to English)
"It should have been a festive day. Fifteen boys in the village of 24 de Marco in northern Mozambique prepared to step into the ranks of adults in a traditional manhood ritual, but before the sun went down, they were all dead, beheaded by Islamic State and put on display on the local football field. .
The attack, which took place in early November, is part of a larger offensive in the East African country, where Islamist groups have revolted since 2017 and spread terror among both Christians and Muslims. It happens with the sense of spectacular violence that the Caliphate also made its hallmark in the heyday of Syria and Iraq."
