This one-day workshop for staff and graduate students in Scottish universities, held at the University of Dundee with the support of the University of St Andrews and the Carnegie Trust, brought together Professor Geoffrey Parker (The Ohio State University), Carnegie Centenary Professor at the University of St Andrews (April-July 2016), with Professor Jürgen Osterhammel (University of Konstanz) as leaders of the workshop. These two professors are the world's most distinguished practitioners of global history in the early modern and modern periods.
