Description

This paper tackled the discrepancy between the name of the person who intervened in the senate in favour of an important religious prescription (Lucius Atilius according to Aulus Gellius 5.17.2 and Verrius Flaccus, Lucius Aquinius according to Macrobius Sat. 1.26.4 and the historians Cassius Hemina and Gnaeus Gellius). The paper also analysed how the characterisation of this person impacted the depiction of the event in ancient authors.
