Description
In this paper I will share the first findings of an ongoing study into the multiple interpretability of the musical score by conducted ensembles. Much of the existing research into conducting has been done by an observer investigating small samples of music. In my own practice-led study I am asking what we can learn about interpretation from a range of scores from the romantic era to today, specifically with the view of trying to understand how we can approach the same score with different interpretations.
