SAGES Climate Science Podcast: Launch Event

TJ Young, Emma Cameron, Mary Abed Al Ahad, and Lydia Cole attended the launch party of the SAGES Climate Science Podcast on Tuesday at the Edinburgh Climate Change Institute. The event was well-attended with a wide range of guests including media outlets, climate activists, policymakers, and members from the Scottish Parliament, and TJ was part of a panel discussion introducing the podcast to the audience. The podcast brings together experts from across Scotland to explore and make accessible to the public critical topics like blue carbon, peatlands, flooding, technology, and environmental justice. Through engaging discussions, we aim to inspire action and provide clarity on the science behind climate solutions. St Andrews was well represented by GSD in the 11-episode podcast, with TJ and Emma featuring in Episode 3 (Cryosphere), Lydia in Episode 9 (Soil and Peat), Mary in Episode 10 (Communities), and Bill Austin in Episode 11. The podcast launch was on the front page of the University News on Wednesday with quotes from TJ, Mary, and Bill.
