Description

Reading and Writing Hong Kong in Scotland: The New Diaspora
Over the past ten years a growing number of writers and artists from Hong Kong have established themselves in Scotland and elsewhere in the global Hong Kong diaspora. As a result of dwindling freedoms in the former British colony, this tendency can only intensify. Our panel discussion focussed on the evolution and future of creativity in this new Hong Kong Chinese diaspora.
Discussants: Tim Tim Cheung, Anna Cheung, Sean Wai Keung, Wendy Law, Jennifer Wong, Chris Song. The event was co-sponsored by the Centre for Poetic Innovation.
A separate poetry reading took place in the evening at 5.30pm in the Bute Building C42, Lecture Theatre D.
