Modern British History Network (External organisation)

Activity: Membership typesMembership of research network

The Modern British History Network provides a broad-based forum for current research in modern British history and supports the work of postgraduates and established scholars. It serves as a means of communication and a focal point for collaborative work on new research projects.

The Network covers political, social, economic, cultural, religious and intellectual history from the late eighteenth century to the present day. Although the immediate constituency is Scotland and northern England, the outlook of the Network is international.

The Network hosts an annual conference on modern British history in June. The conferences aim to represent work covering the whole period since the late eighteenth century with topics in political, economic, social, cultural, religious and intellectual history. In addition, the network hosts a range of smaller events.

Attended conferences and also organised/led the annual conference, held in 2010 at the University of St Andrews.
