Description
This is a themed Masterclass on the supervision of postgraduate dissertations at the Master's level. It is presented by colleagues from Classics, History and Economics whose outstanding teaching qualities have been officially recognised through a Teaching Award or prize nomination.The aim is to disseminate best practice and make innovative teaching ideas more widely available across the Faculty. The format will be informal with plenty of space for questions and discussion. It will also be an opportunity to network with early career lecturers from other Schools.
There is a limit of 13 places available which will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Lunch will be provided from 12pm, with the Masterclass commencing at 12.30pm.
Aims and objectives
By the end of the Masterclass, participants will:
Be aware of alternative approaches to supervising Master's theses and resolving the challenges this presents
Have considered whether these methods may be customised and applied to their own supervision
Have engaged in discussion with the presenters on their experiences of supervising PGT dissertations
