Description
While taxation and fiscal policies are critical to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), there is a lack of understanding of these linkages amongst the tax administrators, policy makers and diplomats. Resultantly, the tax and fiscal policies are not being leveraged to their fullest potential, and the achievement of SDGs is lagging. UNDP together with Columbia University is organising a workshop for diplomats, policy makers and tax administrators to develop a shared understanding of tax and SDGs issues. The three- day workshop will be organised from 30th Nov to 2nd Dec 2022 for diplomats and tax administrators of selected 15 countries across the globe. It will be organised at the Columbia University campus and will feature lectures from world-renowned faculties on different tax and SDGs topics. The in-person workshop also includes sessions/ events to give participants the opportunity to establish personal relations with other diplomats, tax administrators and global policymakers and tax enthusiasts. At the end of the three-day workshop participants will have a shared understanding of interlinkages between tax and SDGs issues, as well as information on different resources on tax and SDGs-related issues that they can tap into, and connections with a global community of tax policy experts.Period | 30 Nov 2022 → 2 Dec 2022 |
