SMU Dedman School of Law Course: Energy Finance and Transactions Abstract: This lecture will draw on current research in Houston and recent scholarship to shed light on the contemporary US hydrocarbon industry and its historical relationship with capital. We will explore how changing economic tools for imagining energy futures have come to influence contemporary energy finance and its legal arrangements. We will also discuss innovations in US hydrocarbon E& P since the 1980s and how these innovations have reshaped the energy landscape the world over.Period | 23 Aug 2021 |
