Description
This presentation looked at a potential model for student collaboration with LLM AI that develops student agency and fosters ownership of the writing process. The model draws upon Bandura's (1997) concept of agency and shows how students can leverage LLM AI to “to influence intentionally [their] functioning and life circumstances” within the context of EAP. Through explicit awareness raising of responsible and purposeful engagement with LLM AI, educators can facilitate the development of agency among students. Through reflection students can investigate how collaboration with LLM AI on writing tasks develops their awareness of good academic practice, developing their unique voice and critical thinking skills
