    Description

On 2 June 2015, the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) Global Subsidies Initiative (GSI) held a side event entitled 'GHG Emissions Reductions and Fossil-Fuel Subsidy Reform: Measurement and Inclusion within INDCs' at UNFCCC 2015 Bonn Climate Change Conference. This video includes the key messages from the event. GSI shows how to include fossil-fuel subsidy reform (FFSR) in INDCs and demonstrates a quantitative model to estimate the amount of emissions reductions from removal of subsidies. Radoslaw (Radek) Stefanski, University of St. Andrews, shows another model that measures global fossil-fuel subsidies that also captures hidden incentives. Hans Jacob Eriksen, Danish Ministry of Climate, Energy and Building, discusses new political momentum resulting from the Friends of Fossil Fuel Subsidy Reform.
This video was produced by Diana Movius and filmed and edited by Hernan Aguilar.
