Description

The workshop will be coordinated by Dmitry Chepurnoi and hosted by Izolyatsiya: A Platform for Cultural Initiatives. Mentorship and instruction will be provided by GCRF network partners Iryna Sklokina (CUHECE) and Victoria Donovan (UoSA). The event will bring together public officials, NGO activists, urbanists, researchers (including St Andrews academics), postgraduate students (including UK-based students) and people from Donbas. It will provide a space for the exchange of ideas, knowledge and expertise between network members and key actors in Donbas politics and culture today. It will allow local actors to consider the relevance and applicability of contemporary research in the fields of urban studies and sustainable development to spheres of professional activity in the Donbas region (including the work of local heritage institutions and schools; media coverage of local politics and culture; civic and cultural activism; the role of culture in conflict resolution).
