EXPLORATHON 2023 Borrow a Researcher with Skype A Scientist

Description

Borrow a Researcher was a collaboration with Skype A Scientist, a US-based non-profit organisation that facilitates online chats between researchers and schools. This was a pan-Scotland event as part of EXPLORATHON 2022-2023. 14 researchers expressed an interest in participating and many were successfully matched. However, only 3 virtual visits ended up taking place. Many teachers dropped out or failed to respond in a timely fashion which was disappointing. It is likely that was due to the lines of communication being too long between the partners as a result of GDPR requirements.
