Description
The University of St Andrews opera company Byre Opera performed Leoš Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen in June 2017. As part of the production, a creative education project that explored themes of the opera as devised and two schools took part. The project was cross-curricular for students in S1-3 and teachers selected pupils to take part from across the school years who showed a particular interest in art or music. Pupils explored underlying themes of the opera, humans and their relationship with the natural world, as well as political and environmental ideas around the forestry industry that were part of this particular production. The results of the students work was showcased in an installation in the Byre Theatre foyer are during the opera production in June.Period | 9 May 2017 → 15 Jun 2017 |
