Description
This talk considers how the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) was represented in official history during the Franco dictatorship that followed it (1939-1975) and how culture has been employed to contest this representation in the post-dictatorship period. It focuses on the memory boom, post-memory and Dulce Chacón’s 2002 novel, La voz dormida.
