Description

ICOM Exhibitions Lightning Talks: This paper presents the workflow and methods behind the Polish
Paratroopers Memory Hall (PPMH) exhibition and Camp Nelson digital exhibit, co-created with descendants of Polish
soldiers, refugees, and ex-servicemen as well as descendants of African-American soldiers. It features a participatory curatorial approach
integrating community narratives, artefact loans, and 3D digital twins. A spatial
survey informed the design of display cases and interactive furniture for immersive
audiovisual installations and automated sensory experiences. A cloud-based system
monitors artefact conditions and coordinates multimedia. Complemented by a digital
database, accessible design, QR codes with audio guides and AR, and geo-mapping,
the project employs open-access software for efficient, inclusive production in
resource-limited settings
