Description
This is an EDI-focused panel of the CA Conference 2025. This panel brings together a group of young female scholars who are studying for or have recently finished their PhDs in Classics and Comparative Literature, and aims to incorporate EDI initiatives with new insights into the field of Classics. This panel invites Asian classicists from mainland China and Japan to articulate dialogues between different disciplinary perspectives, with a special focus on reception studies and comparative literature. We address two interrelated questions: on the one hand, how can our east Asian ethnicity and cultural identity open up new directions in classical scholarship; and on the other, how can we tackle the common challenges that we are collectively facing with as classicists from east Asia. This panel is warmly endorsed by the School of Classics EDI Committee, University of St Andrews.Period | 11 Jul 2025 |
