Description

The Centre for Mediaeval and Early Modern Law and Literature is a forum that welcomes all staff and postgraduates whose exploration in other fields of historical and literary research involves them in encounters with legal concepts and texts. The Centre draws on the expertise of staff from English and History who have published extensively at the intersections of legal history, social history and literary criticism. It aims to provide an intellectual and social focus for staff and postgraduates working at these disciplinary boundaries, and to maintain research links with academics in a number of Literature and History Departments and Law Schools throughout the world.

The Centre hosts a law and literature reading group, open to all staff and postgraduate students, which meets twice a semester, as well as other events and conferences, as advertised in the news section.
