Description
This conference was the inaugural conference in an international series "Expectations in Dynamic Macroeconomic Models" that initially began as a "Learning Week" workshop held at the Federal Reserve Bank of St Louis when James Bullard was FRB Vice President and Deputy Director of Research. Co-organizers of this workshop, which was held in 2006, 2007 and 2008, were Bullard, George Evans and Seppo Honkapohja. It was then in abeyance for several years after Bullard became President. In 2011, we re-established the meeting in St Andrews as an annual conference under its current name. Primary organization was provided by Evans and Kaushik Mitra, the then Director of the CDMA, with support from the School of Economics and Finance. The keynote speakers were: James Bullard (President and CEO, Federal Reserve Bank of St Louis), Roger Guesnerie (Paris School of Economics), Albert Marcet (London School of Economics), Bennett McCallum (Carnegie Mellon University) and Michael Woodford (Columbia University).
Contributed talks were given by: William Branch (UC Irvine), Michele Berardi (University of Manchester), Gabriel Desgranges (THEMA, Université de Cergy-Pontoise), Martin Ellison (Oxford), Andrea Giusto (Dalhousie University), Liam Graham (UCL), Paul Levine (University of Surrey), Yang Lu (Hong Kong University of Science and Technology), Agnieszka Markiewicz (Erasmus University Rotterdam), Bruce McGough (Oregon State University), Fabio Milani (UC Irvine), Patrick Pintus (Aix-Marseille University & GREQAM), Bruce Preston (Columbia University) and Argia Sbordone (Federal Reserve Bank of New York).
The conference has since been held at the FRB St Louis (twice), the FRB San Francisco, the Bank of Finland, the University of Oregon, the University of Amsterdam, the University of Birmingham and the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics where it will again be held later in the year.
