I was asked to join a World Bank team on reconstruction in the Middle East, specifically as regards Syria. The Centre for Syrian studies received $58,000 to recruit a team of experts, to undertake research and to write analytical reports on reconstruction prospects and issues regarding Syria. This also involved attending workshops at the Bank.
