Brainy Bairns

Description

Brainy Bairns’ is the ABC lab’s preschool educational outreach programme being developed in conjunction with the Teacher Working Group we have established with a group of Scottish teachers. Developmental research will inform teaching practice from the earliest levels and curricular lessons and resources will be developed to meet the Scottish Curricular aims to enhance positive outcomes for children’s emotional, social and mental health, both in the short and longer term. A taster of the programme has already been piloted in a number of nurseries and there is much demand and interest in it coming from other nurseries who want this type of intervention. We are in the process of developing more sessions and funding a RA to test the programme in other nurseries.
