Description

BATHTIME at Segedunum, Wallsend

An audio and visual collaborative installation, commissioned by Tyne and Wear council, and based in the reconstructed Roman bathhouse at Segedunum Museum, Wallsend. The installation was commissioned specifically to coincide with Heritage Open Days (8-11 September), a national initiative which allows visitors free access to properties or venues that normally charge for admission, as well as access to special exhibitions or parts of the venues. The exhibition has been created from interviews carried out with local people, archeologists, managers of modern Turkish baths, and Anglo-Saxon specialists within the School of English.

Collaborating with Imogen Cloet, I have carried out many interviews, created a pamphlet of new poems, directed the recording of the audio and worked on the audio and visual concept.
