Description
Lecture to the general public as part of outreach programme organised by the Marciana National Library in Venice to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the death of the humanist printer Aldus Manutius.
This paper explores the dissemination of Aldine editions in early modern Europe. It looks at how Aldines were read, if they were read, and investigates non-textual aspects of collecting books. It will be broadcasted live and will be available as a podcast afterwards.
