Description

The institute is the only field station dedicated to ornithological research in West Africa and provides much needed logistical support for long term research on tropical birds. I am part of the scientific, management and funding committee responsible for encouraging and coordinating research and training. Currently the Institute is running a Masters program in Conservation Biology for 6-7 West African students annually (since 2002) as well as hosting PhD and post-doc projects from the UK and elsewhere.
